thats how you spell potrait! just in case you get serious. im a carrvaggio and corbet and barque period fan it would be cooler on smoother paper and much more shading is needed. also the drapery on the shoulder is short.

The way I spelled portrait is the most important critique here I don't know where you've got the idea that a textured paper is a nono for a portrait, any paper is good for it if you know how to use it . And believe me - if I wanted more shading here I'd do that - if it looks like that it means that it was my choice.
