A very nice piece, though I would've liked to see the whole portrait. Still, it could just be the style ;D .. I often think that eyes are the easiest to draw, but you have clearly spent a lot of time on this one. My only comment would be that there seems to be erratic shading -around- the eye, and maybe there might be more time spent on that, by way of smoothing it out and making the shading more even. Still, it might just be the way it is, with the lighting and such. I'd need to see the whole thing. Very well done! +5/7

luminier - thanks :)

Cigaro - ;)) I have so little time to draw actally ;)

Grafiker - thanks :)

Darlene - actually it took me 20 minutes ;) And I don't agree that eyes are easy to draw. Actually in portrait it's really hard to capture likeness if one doesn't know how to draw eyes properly. The fact that so many people (I also posted it in two different places) guessed whose eye it is, makes me really proud (mind you I havent used any kind of a grid or anything just my eyes)
About the shading - I think the way the iris is shaded gives a wrong impression as to the real size of the eye ;) Mind you that the eye itself is 34 mm long, the iris is 15 mm and the pupil is 6mm (I'm talking about diameters of course) ;)

Beautiful drawing. Those vague skin folds/wrinkles below the corner of both sides the eye really makes the difference. Many people paint this area too smooth or too perfect, but this is what it should look like.

wow.. I seriously don't know how u guys do it.. Hehe.. Very nice eye, hope you do the whole thing some day :)

Henning - you are right - the wrinkles are a very important thing. The problem is I'm impatient. When I draw an eye (separately) I pay attention to all of them. The problem starts when I have to do the whole face ;) Of course I'm talking about those tiny, shallow wrinkles - because the deep ones I love to draw :)

klungsama - oh, we'll see :) If I have some time maybe. I have a cool pic of Tom's face - full of details, but the whole composition is dull. And frankly I don't feel like adding anything to it, not when the point is to draw a realistic portrait :)
